Jump Rope for Heart

What a wonderful family day we had on Saturday. Hannah and Sarah raised money and jumped rope for the American Heart Association at a Jump Rope for Heart Program at the Intermediate School. We arrived at 8:20am and they started jumping at 9am. Noah kept busy by eating snacks, coloring pictures, getting drinks and watching the kids jump. Emily, Zoe and Lacey as well as Hannah and Sarah all took turns playing with him as well.

In this pictures Hannah's jump rope team is performing a chant about jumping rope for a healthy heart and giving people hope. They did it with sign language and use it as a teaching tool when they do assemblies at the 4 elem. schools in the district.
Sarah got an award for raising the 3rd highest amount of money for her school. She got to go up in the front with Mrs. Holt and the other kids. Yeah Sarah!

Here is Hannah and her team doing a little step/clap during their jump rope routine. They did a routine to a song from high school musical 3 .

These pictures are from the 1st hour of the jump rope day when all the kids took turns jumping. They got out long ropes and the parents turned the ropes for the kids could jump. Here Hannah is jumping with Brandt, at one time we were turning the rope for 4 kids. They had fun jumping in and out and Noah's favorite part was making a snake on the floor for them to jump over...

Sarah is still learning how to jump but she tried and made a good effort with the forward jump that she can do.

We caught the girls together before the jumping started. Go jumpers!

A couple of video clips from Hannah's team jumping. They did a great job. There are about 25 on the team and they have been practicing 2 or 3 days a week since January. They travel to other schools and perform to raise awareness for the Heart Association and for good exercise. There are 2 teams and Hannah made Team B this year with hopes of making Team A next year.

Watch her go! We are so proud of Hannah and all the hard work and effort she made to tryout for the team, make it, go to all the practices and then perform at 4 schools and for this big event. Yeah Hannah! Keep up the good work!

GO HANNAH GO!!! We do have the whole routine on DVD and can't wait to show it to you all the next time that we see you. Sarah's Piano Recital is Sunday, May 17th at 2pm at our church in Shippensburg. Hope you can come.
